The DBSC is a student-led organization founded in January 2021 by seven black female activists (Tariah Hyland, Kaylan Parker, Kassidy Parker, Hasana Parker, Lauren Hicks, Elise Sampson, and Amanda Eric). The DBSC was originally founded as a charity foundation but quickly became a supportive and active organization throughout the months leading up to its launch. The DBSC´s founders are all Delaware student leaders who have focused on equity and equality in their communities.

"The DBSC is truly an AMAZING experience, since joining my sense of leadership has excelled and I am more willing to take risks academically and socially. We are like a family and I would not ask for anything more, I love it here!"
" DBSC is a great group of young black students from all different types of backgrounds and education levels, finding different ways to be more active in social change within their communities and fight for the equal right that African Americans have been fighting for!"
